Maple Balsamic Grilled Brussel Sprouts

Sweet and tangy, these maple balsamic grilled brussel sprouts are perfect any day of the year. So fire up that BBQ and get your grill on!


It may be the end of February and -20°C but does that stop us from firing up the BBQ?

Nope.

We’re Canadian and cold weather is an everyday occurrence 4-5 months of the year. We won’t let that stop us from our favourite charbroiled food.Full disclosure: this is the first time I have grilled brussel sprouts.  What was I waiting for? I have no idea, but I really wish I had done it sooner because oh em gee, they were so good!

The sauce is a mix of sweet and tangy and 100% paleo and vegan.  If you want them to be low-carb you can omit the maple syrup and use your favourite low-carb sweetener.

So don’t let that cold weather get you down, fire up the grill and dream of summertime and backyard BBQs.

Grilled Brussel Sprouts - Paleo Vegan

Grilled Maple Balsamic Brussel Sprouts

Ingredients
  1. 500-550g brussel sprouts
  2. 2 Tbsp olive oil
  3. 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  4. 1 Tbsp dijon mustard
  5. 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  6. 1-2 cloves minced garlic
  7. S&P
Instructions
  1. Preheat grill or BBQ to medium heat.
  2. Trim and wash brussel sprouts, add to a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Mix together remaining ingredients in a small bowl.
  4. Pour over brussel sprouts and toss well to coat.
  5. Thread brussel sprouts onto skewers.
  6. Reserve remaining sauce.
  7. Grill for 15-20 minutes on the top rack rotating every 3-5 minutes.
  8. Remove from grill and toss in any remaining sauce.
  9. Enjoy!
