Protein Packed Chocolate

I love sneaking protein into treats (like this one!) so you can have your dessert and hit your protein goals at the same time.  This protein packed chocolate is made with really simple ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.

To keep it low-carb/low-sugar, try to use the highest percentage of chocolate you can.  The higher amount of cocoa, the less sugar it has.  It takes a bit of time to adjust your tastesbuds, but if you’re a choc-o-holic like me you’ll be chowing down on 85-90% in no time!  Plus, I find the flavour is more satisfying so you really only need a small serving.

These are the perfect mid-afternoon snack full of healthy fats, protein and low in carbs.  They’re also vegan and gluten-free.  Whip up a batch and enjoy your healthy protein packed chocolate!

Protein Packed Chocolate

  1. ½ cup all natural peanut or almond butter
  2. 3 scoops Nuzest Protein Powder
  3. 3 Tbsp unsweetened almond milk
  4. 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
  5. 1/8 tsp liquid stevia (optional)
  6. 6 oz vegan chocolate (75% or higher)
  7. 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  1. To make the filling for the chocolate, mix together nut butter, protein powder, almond milk, cocoa powder and stevia. Set aside.
  2. The mixture may be a bit crumbly but should stick together.
  3. In a separate bowl, melt chocolate with coconut oil.
  4. Using half of the melted chocolate, fill molds half way. Refrigerate until firm.
  5. Press filling into molds and leave room to top with remaining melted chocolate.
  6. Pour remaining chocolate on top. Refrigerate.
  7. Pop out of molds.
  8. Enjoy!
