Thanksgiving Round-Up

This Thanksgiving is filled with BS!

And by BS I’m referring to butternut squash and brussel sprouts…duh! Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend, and while turkey often gets the spotlight, my favourite part is the sides.  And who can forget dessert? I wanted to share a few of my favourite recipes below. Some are keto/low-carb, some are not, but all are delicious!

I usually roast my turkey the same way, slathered in butter, spices and bacon.  I’ve never posted a recipe on here, so I’ll share a link below to a recipe that is close to what I do.  You really can’t go wrong with bacon!

As for the sides, butternut squash and cauli mash is a nice change from mashed potatoes and still relatively low-carb.  Brussel sprouts and bacon are the best combo and totally low-carb!  My cranberry sauce recipe can be made with less sugar by substituting stevia for the coconut sugar.

Onto dessert, my husband’s favourite is apple crisp.  This recipe is not only fewer calories than traditional apple crisp but it’s also vegan and gluten-free. I also included a low-carb, vegan pumpkin chia seed pudding recipe.

Yes! Totally a good reason to have turkey! Heck, I’ll have it again for US Thanksgiving…and Christmas…and New Years…and Valentine’s Day.
      Cheers 🙂
