This spicy grilled shrimp is so quick and easy to prepare, it will sure to be a hit at your next BBQ! And what is better than grilled shrimp with cocktail sauce? Grilled shrimp with your own homemade cocktail sauce that is free of HFCS, corn syrup, soybean oil and added sugar.
This sauce is very easy to whip up with ingredients I’m sure you already have in your fridge. The best part is you can make it as spicy as you want by adding more hot sauce, or omit it all together if you don’t like the heat.
Serves 4
1 lb fresh shrimp, deveined, tails left on
2-3 Tbsp olive oil
1/4-1/2 tsp Frank’s Red Hot Sauce or Tabasco
1/4 tsp paprika
S&P to taste
Skewers
Cocktail Sauce (Yields 1/3 cup)
1/3 cup organic, low-sugar ketchup
1-2 tsp horseradish
1/2 tsp dijon mustard
Fresh lime juice from 1/2 lime
Few dashes of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce or Tabasco
1/8 tsp salt
Preheat BBQ or grill to medium-high heat. In a large bowl, toss the shrimp, olive oil, hot sauce, paprika and S&P. Slide shrimp onto sewers (if you are using wooden skewers be sure to soak them first so they don’t catch on fire!)In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients for the cocktail sauce and mix well. Set aside.
Grill shrimp for a 2-3 minutes a side. Remove from grill and serve with cocktail dipping sauce.
