I recently had the opportunity to sample and review Nuzest Clean Lean Protein Powder (and one lucky winner will get a chance too!) I was really excited to try Nuzest because it is 100% plant-based and free of additives, preservatives and artificial flavours found in most protein powders. In addition to all that awesomeness, Nuzest is also gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, lectin-free, egg-free, non-gmo, easy to digest, and a complete protein. Pheww! That’s a lot of awesomeness.
So what exactly is in it? Nuzest is made from pea protein isolate and averages 20g of protein per 25g serving, 95 calories and only 1.5g Carbs. It comes in four delicious flavours: rich chocolate, smooth vanilla, wild strawberry, creamy cappuccino as well as unflavoured. Here is a complete list of the ingredients and nutrition content in all their flavours (click photos to enlarge):
As for the taste, they are all really good! I think chocolate was my favourite but vanilla and cappuccino were a close second. The texture is nice and smooth; it blends well in smoothies and mixed in yogurt which is my fav evening snack!
The first thing I whipped up was this low-sugar, low-carb, banana-free Chocolate PB Smoothie. It’s rich and creamy and packed with good-for-you fats. It will keep you full and satisfied for hours!

While I was given free product in exchange for this review, these opinions are 100% my own and I would never promote a product I don’t try myself and don’t personally love!
Great giveaway! I look for low-carb, plant-based with no sugar!
Thanks Leanne! I really liked NuZest…I think you will too…good luck 🙂 🙂
Excited about a low-sugar, clean protein!!
Me too!!! Good luck Wendy 🙂
I look for vegan based proteins for my smoothies! And chocolate – there must be chocolate!!
Thanks for hosting this giveaway!!
Andrea
Chocolate is a must!!! Good luck Andrea 🙂
I look for low or no sugar, clean, and a great flavor!
Awesome Christy! NuZest fits all those criteria 🙂
I look for good taste & a something that doesn’t have “junk” in it. All I want is something simple & nothing but good for you!
This looks awesome! How does it compare to Health Warrior’s Warrior Blend, which is what we use and is super-clean, vegan and can be obtained with absolutely no sweetener?
I’m not sure Pamela, I’ve never used that brand. All of the details are in the post though in regards to ingredients and nutrition.
Organic and gluten free.
I only look for and use gluten-free dairy-free wheat-free NON-GMO fair trade products
I can’t have soy (gives me migraines) and I really want to limit the amount of unnecessary sugar and additives. Vanilla is my fav (of most things) since I can’t have chocolate…sad I know LOL. Would love to see if this tastes as good as Vega, which is what I currently buy. Love your blog-so proud of you!
Hi Christina!! Thanks so much 🙂 Miss ya girl!
NuZest fits those criteria. I’ve had Vega and it is definitely comparable in taste and quality. Darn that chocolate allergy 🙁
Good luck!!!!
I have been using grass-fed whey, which is great but I can only use small amounts of it. I have been looking for a high quality vegan, sugar/gluten/soy free protein and this looks like a great option! Thanks for the introduction, and for the great blog! You have a great message 🙂
Thanks Christina, I really appreciate the kind words 🙂 NuZest definitely fits those criteria. I hope you get a chance to try it and good luck!
I usually try to find something that is low in sugar and that most of the calories come from protein. Flavor is important though! I can’t do unflavored protein powder lol.
I look for a flavor I like.
I like dairy free and a good flavour like strawberry or vanilla.
I always look for the highest protein amount and low carb (which can be hard to find)
Me too!!!
I look for vegan with a decent taste.
NuZest has you covered!
First I look for flavor since I am usually looking for something specific. Then, I look at the nutritional panel. I like lower calorie, low carb high protein. Lactose free is great if possible and I also prefer natural ingredients if possible (a lot of times at this stage of my life..I have to give the last part up because it is too expensive for me but one day that will be something I strongly look at)
yum love smoothies! I like good flavors and minimal ingredients, no weird added sugars!
Agreed!
vegan and low in sugar
NuZest is both!
I really look for protein that is clean and hopefully vegan. I tried whey, but plant based is so much smoother
I agree! You’d love NuZest 🙂
The main thing I look for is gluten free… then I want low carb and low fat with LOTS of protein.
