**GIVEAWAY** Mamma Chia Energy Drink

Energy-Bottles-Family-MEDI have never been a fan of traditional chemical-filled energy drinks, or even caffeine. I don’t like the jitters, headaches and stomach cramps it gives me.  This is the first time I tried an all-natural energy drink. Mamma Chia was kind enough to send me the Chia Energy Beverages, and what can I say, now I’m hooked!

I tested it out just before a workout and I felt great all the way through. I was revitalized and didn’t feel any of the side effects that I normally would from those other energy drinks.  I love that it is packed with Omega-3s, protein, antioxidants and other minerals. As well as a NATURAL source of caffeine.

I tried the Chia Energy Beverage in blackberry and raspberry. The flavour is great, does not have any weird aftertaste (because it’s all natural!) and it’s not overly sweet, which I prefer.  If your pallet likes sweet drinks this may be a bit of an adjustment.  The only downside for some people might be the texture.  Once chia seeds are mixed with liquid, they expand into a gelatinous texture.  You’ll see in the pictures that the seeds are somewhat suspended or floating in the liquid.  If you’ve had soaked chia seeds or chia seed pudding then you’ll know what I mean. If you don’t like pulp in your OJ or seeds in your smoothies, you may not like the texture of these. I didn’t mind it at all 🙂

Mamma Chia is the FIRST beverage that combines the power of chia with the clean energy of guayusa (gwhy-you-sa) which has been part of the Amazonian culture for more than 2,000 years.  It’s unique balance of clean caffeine, antioxidants and vitamins deliver a sustained energy without the jitters and crashes associated with coffee and other energy drinks.  Made with refreshing organic fruit juices and lightly sweetened with only 14 grams of organic cane sugar, one bottle of Mamma Chia Clean Energy (10 oz.) delivers:

  • More than an entire day’s worth of Omega-3s (2500 mg)
  • 25 percent of one’s daily fiber (6 grams)
  • 4 grams of complete protein
  • 90 mg of natural caffeine (about as much in an 8 oz. cup of coffee)
  • Twice the antioxidants of a cup of green tea
  • Calcium, powerful antioxidants and valuable minerals
  • 120 calories

Like all Mamma Chia products, the new organic Clean Energy Drinks are Non-GMO Verified, gluten-free, vegan, Kosher and USDA Certified Organic.

Retailing for $2.99, the Clean Energy organic beverages are available in four flavors and will be available at select retailers, including Whole Foods, Safeway and Target, starting in January.

Overall, I really enjoyed these drinks, the flavour and the subtle but noticeable increased energy; I would definitely buy them again!

OK, onto the GIVEAWAY!!!  Mamma Chia has kindly offered up the following to ONE lucky winner…
