Healthy Halloween Snacks ~ Ghouls & Monsters

Amidst all the mini chocolate bars, pumpkin spice kisses (my favourite!) and those cute tiny bags of chips, I thought it would be a good idea to add in some healthy snacks! If you’re on Pinterest (like, who isn’t!?) then I’m sure you’ve seen these snack ideas going around. I just thought they were so cute I had to try them.  Now, I don’t have any kiddos but I’m sure they would love these, I know I did!photo 1Monster Bites

Makes 8-10 “bites”

1 red apple of your choice
1 Granny Smith apple
Your favourite nut butter
Slivered almonds
Raisins or chocolate chips

Slice apples as shown below…photo 3Place about 1/3 to 1/2 tablespoon of nut butter on one apple slice, then smoosh the other apple slice next to it.  Use slivered almonds or raisins for teeth.  I had a hard time pushing in the slivered almonds, they kept breaking on me so I used raisins.  I figured monsters don’t have pearly whites any way.photo 4
Yogurt Dipped Ghosts

Makes 8 Ghosts

2 bananas
Approximately 1 cup vanilla yogurt
16 chocolate chips, or cacao nibs, or 8 raisins cut in half
8 popsicle sticks

Cut the bananas in half, then lengthwise and gently push in the popsicle stick.  Freeze on parchment paper for about 30 minutes.  Remove from freezer and dip into the yogurt until fully coated.  Add chocolate chips for eyes and freeze again until hardened.  Keep frozen until ready to serve.photo 2What are your favourite Halloween snacks??!
